    Brief Introduction
    
    Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (SFROC for short), established in September 1956, has called 8 congresses of returned overseas Chinese and relatives of overseas Chinese. For more than 40 years, SFROC has been committed to serving returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese, conveying their sentiments and protecting their legitimate rights and interests. As a result, it has forged profound emotional ties with the broad masses of returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese and become their trustworthy and dependable home from home.
    Under SFROC are Liaison Department, Cultural Exchange Department, Department of Economic Work and General Office. The primary purposes of SFROC in conducting activities are first to protect according to law the lawful rights and interests in Chinese mainland of returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese, and second to show concern for the legitimate rights and interests of the overseas Chinese. SFROC, oriented to the grass roots and to the masses, is in touch with half a million returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese, new emigrants and families of students studying abroad in the whole city, as well as the broad masses of overseas Chinese, and is the bridge and link by which the Chinese Government keeps in touch with the broad masses of returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese.
    SFROC sincerely hopes that the broad masses of returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese will come to its office regularly, just to sit for a while and have a look, to exchange information and communicate feelings and to help it to provide better protection for overseas Chinese according to law and to unite the hearts of overseas Chinese.     In order to better serve the overseas Chinese and promote the friendship and communication between families of overseas Chinese and overseas-Chinese-owned enterprises, SFROC holds from time to time economic salons for Shanghai overseas Chinese entrepreneurs (Overseas Chinese Business Salon for short). Overseas Chinese community and foreign-owned enterprises are warmly welcome to attend these salons, where you will make more friends and acquire more information.
