Certifying the status of returned overseas Chinese youth, children of returned overseas Chinese and children of overseas Chinese in China for the purpose of going to school of a higher grade

    Time limit for handling:
    1. Status of returned overseas Chinese youth and children of returned overseas Chinese to be certified by the Municipal Returned Overseas Chinese Federation;
    2. District and county OCAO responsible for the certification of the status of children of overseas Chinese in their respective locality;
    3. The municipal government OCAO responsible for the certification of the status of children of returned overseas Chinese of other provinces and municipalities residing in this Municipality;
    4. Certificate to be issued on the same day.
    Qualifications of objects of application: Returned overseas Chinese youth, children of returned overseas Chinese and children of overseas Chinese in China.
    
    Application formalities:
    Materials to be provided:
    Personal Certificate of Returned Overseas Chinese;
    Certificate of Returned Overseas Chinese of either of the parents and certificate of relationship between the person concerned and his/her father (mother);
    Certificate of the status of overseas Chinese issued by Chinese embassies or consulates in the locality and the notarial certificate or certificate of relationship between the person in question and his/her parents; Certificate of domicile and student¡¯s ID of the object of application.
    
    Handling procedure:
    Children of Chinese nationals residing overseas (overseas Chinese) living in China who wish to apply for admission to institutions of higher learning, secondary specialized schools or senior high schools in this Municipality may seek advice from the OCAO of the Municipal government (or district or county OCAO). After providing relevant certifying documents and upon the examination and verification by the leadership of the Domestic Division, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Municipal Government (or leadership of the district or county OCAO), Permits for Returned Overseas Chinese Youth and the Children of Returned Overseas Chinese to Go to Schools of a Higher Grade will be issued.
    The Municipal Returned Overseas Chinese Federation (Floor 10, Overseas Chinese Building, 129 Yananxilu) will provide advice for returned overseas Chinese youth and the children of returned overseas Chinese who wish to apply for admission to institutions of higher learning, secondary specialized schools or senior high schools in this Municipality and issue to them the Permits for Returned Overseas Chinese Youth and the Children of Returned Overseas Chinese to Go to Schools of a Higher Grade.
    
    Basis for handling: ¡°Opinion of the OCAO of the Municipal Government, the Municipal Enrolment Office for Institutions of Higher Learning, the Municipal Education Bureau and the Municipal Bureau of Higher Education on Admission of Returned Overseas Chinese Youth, Children of Returned Overseas Chinese and Children of Overseas Chinese in China to Schools of a Higher Grade (1983).
